Thanks for pointing that out. I was under the impression that I will receive an email with an acknowledgement that they received the application and is being processed. I never received that and every time I checked on the BLS website it kept stating that there is no record of my order #.

I re-checked now, and see the following update on the status.

Current Aplication Status : Your OCI Application has been processed by the BLS Office and is ready to be sent to the Consulate. It may take to 2-3 working days for the status to change.

Would I need to check the passport.gov.in from here on? That website does seem to be up only during the evenings and night time.

    Thanks,

You are correct - you need to check GOI's web site from now on until the new OCIs reach US from Delhi. Based on my experience, it should go pretty quick. My OCIs are already at SFO Consulate and I got an email from BLS asking me to send new passports.

          Hi KR,

As I mentioned I see an update on status on BLS site but never received an email from them. Is the email auto-generated when a status update happens on BLS site?

          Thanks,

Need help on photo and BLS order

I am about to apply for for OCI reissue new passport for my twins. Just like the originator.
I am also a little confused on the instructions and was searching online for help until I found this thread...thank god :-)

            Here are my questions.

            1. How many photos per each application form ? Is it just the one that we stick on OCI application front page? or one more loose one in addition to the first?

            2. While creating the BLS order form, it asks about airway bill for the both sending and receiving? So should we first take the complete package to fed-ex or usps and ask for the bill , then come back and then create the order form? once it is done re-insert the BLS form in package? Is that the idea? How did you guys do it?

            3. Since the kids are US born, do we still need to attach parents' naturalization certificates? I didnt think so, but just want to confirm.

            Thanks

              1. Only one photo per application form, just the one you paste to the application front page. I sent two sets of applications, so I had pasted two photos per kid.

              2. I had the package weighed and priced out first. I got the tracking # and put it on the order form.

              3. I did attach copies of parents' naturalization certificates.

                    K R bro,

For the return shipping, did you put a return envelope with shipping label or only the shipping label?

                    Thanks

I paid for their FedEx option, so I didn't have to include a return envelope or a label. I got an email after I paid for FedEx. I included that in the application packet as proof of payment for return postage. When they sent originals back, they sent me an email with FedEx tracking number that I was able to use to track. All in all, their email system worked pretty well for me.

It's on the BLS Order Form. You will see near the top "FedEx Delivery Service Click Here" - that will take you to a page where you can pay.

It looks like they lowered the fee. I paid $28. It now says $15.

Was able to locate it with your help. Now I have more questions ..sorry
Since I am doing for my twins. we need to do one BLS for each of them. so for this return option, we need to click here twice ...once for each of them , right?
That means total will be $15+$15 ?
If it is only once, then how do we enter both passports in the ensuing page that shows up after we select "Fedex Delivery Service Click Here"

I paid only once because they are going to send both passports and OCIs back in the same FedEx envelope. I just entered one passport number. I printed the email receipt I received and attached it to both applications.

Ok thanks. For the first twin, I will choose their fedex option and provide one passport number. Now, we need another BLS order form for the second twin too. So for second BLS order form under the Fedex Delivery Serve, I will choose Prepaid Delivery == Yes and what did you do for

next question which asks Airway Bill No OR Fedex Transaction details. I am not sure what the email receipt contains so not sure what to fill here.

                                Thanks
