  • Visa Stamping by USA consulate in India

We are planning to go on vacation in June 2006. Recently, my visa has been extended till 2007. So I was told that I need to get stamped again on my passport by US consulate. I have the following questions. Can some one answer these ?

    1. Earlier my stamping was done in Mumbai (All our passports bear Bombay address), but this time I don't need to go to Mumbai, so can I get my stamping done in Chennai ? Is this allowed ?

2)Any different procedure need to followed for the second time stamping as compared to the first time stamping ?

3). What are all the documents I need to carry for the second time stamping . I hold H1b visa accompained by wife(H4) and a child (H4) ?

4). Is this the site where I need to pay the fee and take an appointment for stamping? If that is the case, I see a link to a mumbai consulte and the same is not availble for Chennai consulate, why like that ?

Can some one please answer these questions ?

      Thank you.

I have a follow-up question on this one. My son's passport is getting expired shortly and I am applying for a new one. In that his new indian addres will be different and will not match with our (parents) passports.

Our passports(parents) and his current passport has bombay address where we stayed when we first got the passports.
Since no one is in bombay, now I will have our Andhara address on his new passport.

Would that pose any problem in USA consulate when we go for stamping ?
I mean having different addresses on the passports of child and parents.

Can you please clarify this ?

Having different address in the passports of parents and child is not a problem.
