Applying OCI for child from USA with expiring visa

Hi,

I want to apply OCI for my child from USA, but my H1B visa is expiring in two months. What are the options I do have? Can I still apply with any additional documents? If yes, which are they?
I am planning to apply for extension in few days. Can I submit receipt notice?
I do not have any plans to go to India in near future.

Please advice.

no, must submit copy of granted proof of visa status, unless one of parents has permanent resident of US starus
