  • OCI vs PIO

    Hello,
I would like to apply for an OCI or PIO card for my son who was born 6 months back. And it looks like applying PIO first ( $ 155 fee) and then upgrade it to OCI by paying $25 extra seems to be little cheaper way. But if we directly apply OCI it will be $275. So PIO->OCI seems to be good option.
But my question here is, I have just submitted the online PartA for OCI but have NOT sent any documents later. Is that ok if I just cancel the Part A online process and apply for PIO now ? is there any way to cancel.
Could anyone plzzzz respond quickly ???

    Thanks in advance
    Sri

    Good decision

    Hi,

I think you just saved yourself $100 I should have done it too.

I suppose do not send the OCI documents. Instead apply for PIO directly.

They will issue only what you apply for.

    Regards
