Minor Child Expiry date on passport close to travel date

Parents are in US on H1b and the daughter(8 yrs ) is in India with valid H4 visa and Indian passport will expire on June 2007.

Planning to travel to US around May 2nd.

As soon as my daughter is in US planning for Passport renewal.

Will this be fine to travel to US?

The problem I see in this case is that, she will probably get a I-94 with validity upto the passport expiry date and you will have to file for extension for her.
