Hi,
We are applying for a change of name in my wife's passport from her maiden name to married name. We are planning to send the passport by post. Can some one please help on the following:
1. Where do I send the passport?
DC seems to be the consular section, but then right below it , the are mentioning that NC residents should send the Passports to New York.
2. In the change of name form(re-issue form), I do not see any place where I mention the changed "last name" / "Surname" .
Do they check the marriage certificate and assign it automatically?
3. There is a question in the form which says, is the applicant registered with the Indian mission/ post, what does this mean?
4. There is a method by which we can receive the passport in the tatkal scheme by paying $90 more. Is this valid for passports sent by post?
