OCI at Houston Consulate.

  • OCI at Houston Consulate.

    Dear Friends,
    Anyone know what is happening with OCI applications at Houston.

    I submitted my application for family of 4 in Feb 2008, so far I have not heard from them. When I track the OCI status online it says the application is received. Nothing more than that.

    I have asked several others friends who applied at same consulate and are in the same position like me.

    No one answers the e-mails or phones at the consulate.

    Is there anything I should do to get more information on the process.

    What does ...

    ... the India's Home Ministry web site's online status show for your electronic filing id?

    You can track your OCI application there easily.

    If it has been received by the Home Ministry's office, they will display the status on their website.

    If it has not left Houston, you're not doing good.

      May be I should rephrase my question.

      I have links where I can track the status. The problem was the status does not move/change......

        Confusion ...

        ... my mistake, I re-read your original post and it does say you see the status as Received.

        In that case, you may need to contact the Indian Home Ministry's office where your application is currently located and probably under processing.

          People are absolulely right. Things are not moving fast at Indian consulate in Houston.

          I encourage everyone to add their case there so that everyone gets a better idea about what is going on. More data is better.

          And yes, no one picks up the phone at the consulate. I had to call continously everday between 2 to 4 pm for 3 weeks before I someone picked up the phone once. (I called not to know the status as they won't answer over the phone, but because there was a typing mistake made by them in the name.)
