I have applied for OCI as a family group on 30th January and sumitted all the necessary documents alongwith application fee which has been reached to Houston office on 2nd February.
As per on-line Application Status following has been informed till date:
Date Of Acknowledgment is 04-MAR-2009
Photo / Signature Scanned on 20-MAR-2009
Registration Status: Under Process
As it says OCI Registration Certificate and Visa are available for delivery within 30 days from the date of acknowledgment. I have completed 30 days from date of acknowledement and 60 days from application.
Is there are any objections regarding our Photographs/Signature/Thumb impression??
I have tried to contact over phone and e-mail but they don't pick-up the phone and never replied e-mail.
We have booked tickets for the 25th May to visit India. Do you think I have chance to get this before. I am in Tulsa, OK hence I belive it might be atleast a week or 10 days in post to get my passport stamped once it has been reached to Houston office.
Other option is getting Tourist Visa for India but I am Canadian Citizen working in USA under TN visa category and it won't be easy to get Indian Visa from here in USA. Travisa Outsourcing website says you can't apply for it If you are non-USA citizen short-term visa holder. It's very odd as OCI can be applied from here in USA but not Tourist Visa??
please help me I am so confused and can't decide what to do if I cancel or change my tickets it would cost me a lot and ruin my plan. Anybody had experience with OCI in Houston office; your input or suggestion will be appericiated
