Need to Endorse PIO with renewed passport

I recently renewed my daughters passport since the original passport expired after 5 years. Her current PIO card states "valid till 07-Sep-2019 subject to validity of U.S. Passport" and has the original passport number on it. In that case, do I need to send the PIO card to Indian consulate with copies of new passport and get the PIO endorsed with new passport details? Has anyone gone thru this experience earlier?

If yes, pls let me know your experience and procedure for next steps.

You have two options:

1. Carry both the passports.
2. Get the new passport number written on PIO card from Indian consulate.
