Question on Indian passport renewal

I have been out of India for last 10 years, the permanent address in India which I had while I acquired the passport is no longer the same. Our family in India has changed the city (same state) . Can I give their current address as the "permenant address in India" in the passport renewal form?
Do I need to provide any proof of this address?

Appreciate any responses.

Yopu have to provide a address overseas as well as your current address in the US. The proof of address they ask for is in the US.
