Lost Indian passport with valid US Visa

I reside in Oman. I lost my Indian passport with a valid US B1 visa (valid till end 2015). I am applying for new passport to Indian Embassy in Oman. My questions are -

1. Can my earlier valid US visa be transferred to my new passport?
2. If not then, when I apply for a fresh US visa upon receipt of new passport, is there any chance that US embassy will refuse my visa application as I already have a valid visa on my name?
3. Is there anything that I should do (something like police reporting(FIR), affidavit, etc, etc) to apply for a fresh US visa based on the earlier US visa number/copy, to get US visa immediately upon receipt of new passport?

Request your kind and immediate reply so that I can do the necessary formalities in parallel to applying for the new passport.

3. You will have to file a police complaint first. You will have to go through new visa process all over again.

I hope some one could guide me regarding my lost visa.I had lost my passport along with my visa in taiwan.I am a sea man (sailor).The agent in taiwan assured me that i will be able to go back to my country only with a seamans book.so I had disembarked my vessel from taiwan and left for India.they allowed me to board the flight in taiwan to hong kong.but in hong kong i was not allowed to board the flight without a passport.then i got spl permission from immigration to go out to the Indian consulate in hong kong to get my passport.now i have my new passport and returned back to my country.

now i have to apply for my us visa again.i have the FIR copy with me.I have already informed the us consulate in chennai about my lost passport and visa.
someone advice regarding whether i will face any challenges regarding the issue of my visa.also want to know additionally what documents i need to produce and how i should proceed in this matter?

Lost Visa Process

Hi,
I am Vijayaraghavan, and have been travelling extensively abroad since the last 20 years. I am residing in Mumbai currently and have a permanent address in Bangalore. During April 2012 I had travelled to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and during a customer visit my passport of three booklets got stolen. I have since registered an FIR with the local police and have been able to get a New passport issued in Jeddah from the Indian Embassy. My old passport No.E6470899 issued in Mumbai on 14th August 2003, valid till 13th August 2013, contained my US VISA HAVING CONTROL NO 20070595410009 Issued in Chennai on 01MAR2007 VALID THROUGH 27FEB2017 . Could you please let me know if I can apply for a duplicate Visa COPY ON MY new passport or should I go through the process of applying for a NEW Visa.

Lost Passport with valid F1 visa

Hi,

I am a student in Arizona and I lost my passport. I have filed a police complain and have also received the report. I am in the process of collecting the documents required to process a new passport. One of the documents say I need "Notorized U.S. visa or Green Card or Employment letter or I 797". As a student I don't have any of those documents except a copy of my U.S. visa. I cannot get that notorized because my original visa is in the passport. What should I do?

Except this, I have all the other required documents to process a new passport. Please help me if possible.
