What to do if mother's name is NOT on Indian Passport?

I don't have birth certificate (i am over 65 years old and born in India). On the OCI application, I put my mother's full name. However, the Indian passport doesn't have my mother's name. It does have my father's name. CKGS rejected my application because my mother's name is NOT on indian passport (which has been canceled). What are my options?

Can I write in the name in the INdian passport? Will they know?

Or do i NOT write any name in the OCI application for Mother's name?

Sorry to hear. Crazy people! I would suggest sending CKGS an inquiry on what to do with your situation.

I think Indian Consulate would have accepted it. But people in CKGS don't have a clue how things work in India in the last century!
