Indian Passport Renewal Before 1 year Expiry

Hi ,

My H1 expires on Feb 2021 and my passport expires on Oct 2021. My employer has asked me to renew the passport before submitting for extension. Can we apply for renewal before 1 year. I went through lot of forums, but I am not getting a proper answer. Did someone came across my situation? Can someone help me with my questions.

Yes. You can apply for passport renewal before 1year of its expiry. Actually you need to do it as you are abroad otherwise you won't be getting your visa approved.
