Need help on OCI Documents required Information (Marriage Certificate)

Hello,


I am Indian born Naturalized US Citizen and my wife is US born citizen.


I want to apply for OCI for myself only, as my wife doesn't need OCI.


Question 1: Do I need to submit marriage certificate If I am applying only for myself?


VFS global website has unclear Information on marriage certificate.

I have emailed VFS Global and they replied this:

They want marriage certificate if you trying to print spouse name. I advise you to send your marriage certificate. They just need a copy and not original. It'll be less problematic for you.
