Tatkal indian passport renewal at NYC - status confusion

9th march : submitted application via fedex
10th : vfs reviewed and submitted to consulate
13th : under review with consulate
14th : police verification initiated and completed on same day in india
15th : passport has been printed
16th : consulate handed over passport to vfs for further dispatch to applicant
today is 21st : vfs saying passport not yet received from consulate and consulate PRAMIT request confirmed that they handed over to VFS on 16th

what to do now and need to travel india due to family emergency

anybody faced similar issue
