If the birth certificate is not issued either from the USA or India, you need an "Apostiled" birth certificate which is done by the respective country's embassy./high commission. -
OCI Birth Certificate
hello,
Applying for Adult OCI based on root father. Adult applicant is a foreign national and father deceased was an Indian National.
My application was returned with request to provide an attested Birth Certificate by High Commission of the country.
Per BLS Surrey website document checklist an attested birth certificate only applies for minor child applicants. Per Vancouver consul was advised a copy of the birth certificate would be sufficient.
Anyone experienced similar issue with OCI application and birth certificate? Thanks
