  • PAssport Surrender Renunciation

I see this query has been asked many times in this group. But I am not getting a confident guidance. Please help. I am waiting for my passport to come back in the mail.

I submitted my passport surrender form. The govt form specifically asked if the address printed on the passport was out of India. I said no. It gave me an Indian address prompt. I entered everything and submitted.

My app was rejected from VFS saying that the present address is not correct.

When I research, I see that it is a glitch. They really want the US address, I guess...

Anybody who got rejected likewise. What did you do? Please advise. Please guide this post to the correct group if needed.

One more query. I bought the Fedex courier for $35 last time. I am in no hurry and it wont take that long to get to Houston from where I live.

*** I understand that VFS has a free USPS return service which is slow. Can I NOT use the VFS Fedex and still get the free USPS back. Has anybody done this? Do I have to buy the Fedex label for CFS Houston? ****

    Hi,
    • Rejection reason: This happens often. Even if the form asks about passport address, VFS expects your current US address as “present address.” Refill the form, enter your US address everywhere required, and resubmit.
    • Courier: You don’t need to buy the $35 FedEx label. You can send documents using your own courier (USPS/UPS/FedEx) and still use VFS’s free USPS return service. Just follow their checklist and include the correct return details.
    Thanks
