Transfer of property without my presence in india

I am the second daughter of my parents. I had bought a home long time back in Bangalore, India and had registered it on my parents name. My father expired recently. As my name is not in the property, and my mother is also getting old, I want to make sure all the paperwork for the transfer of the property are in place.

I am an NRI living in USA for the past 15 years. I can not go to India for the transfer process to be completed. So, Can someone please help me with:

1) WHAT OPTION FOR TRANSFER OF THE PROPERTY IS GOOD: I do not want to do a gift deed. I can not be present in-person during the transfer process. What option would be good ?

2) HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT TAKE FOR THE PROCESS: Usually how much time does it take to complete the whole process?
