Health insurance for student visa holder while adjusting status
Hello guys,
I have a question that can´t seem find an answer to. I recently entered the US on an M-1 visa so I want to purchase a health insurance plan while studying here. That has been relatively easy to find, the quotes have been around 30-40 dollars per month.
But here´s the tricky part: In 3 months I´m going to get married and to my understanding my future wife can not add me to her health insurance because her mother gets free health insurance from work and it covers her.
It look like all health insurance plans I can buy to cover me while I´m here as a student cancel out as soon as I apply for adjusting status so does someone know what can I do?
