  • 80 years immigrant

My dad is 80 years old. He will be coming to us as Greencard Holder. What option do I have to buy insurance? It seems like I can only buy Bridge Plan and Inbound Immigrant. Why is the price at Bridge Plan is so much more expensive than Inbound? Also, what does it mean $50,000 max per injury/sickness? If I buy 1 year insurance, my father got sick twice - it will cover $50K each incident. The first incident costs $40K after deductible and the 2nd incident costs $30K after deductible. Is my father cover for both incident.

Yes, those are the two choices available for that age.

Bridge plan is a comprehensive coverage plan while Inbound Immigrant is a fixed coverage plan.
Please read https://www.insubuy.com/visitors-insurance/ to understand the difference.

$50,000 per injury/sickness means exactly what it says: $50,000 per injury/sickness. However, please keep in mind that as Inbound Immigrant is a fixed coverage plan that has sub-limits for every procedure, the actual amount of coverage that you get will be much less in practice.
    Thanks & Regards

It seems like I may need to buy the Bridge Plan. It has Part A and Part B. I am only interest in emergency hospitalization. This is cover in Part A. However, if you are in a hospital, you will be seeing Doctor.. Don't I need part B? Is part B Dr or Surgeon are non-emergency?

Part A is inpatient treatment. That is when you are admitted in the hospital. At that time, even if the Dr sees you, that is part of the covered expenses.

Part B is outpatient treatment. That is when you are not admitted in the hospital.

Can you buy Plan A and decide later on to add Plan B?

You can just buy Part B separately later.

Or cancel Part A and buy bother together.

              Hi,

I notice that there is another plan available for 81 years old->World Med. Is this a new plan? What is different between the bridge plan and World Med? Are they similar in coverage?

WorldMed is not a new plan. It has been available for many years.

However, the green card holders (such as new immigrants) are not eligible for WorldMed plan. It is a visitors insurance.
                Thanks & Regards
