J visa insurance

I am a new Postdoc just joined UNC at Charlotte, and I am seeking health insurance for my wife (born on 11/17/1982 and my daughter born on 10/17/2014). We are currently in the states, and we will be in USA till 31 October.

The requirements for minimum health insurance plan is as follow:

Minimum total benefit/coverage of $100,000 (USD) per accident or illness Plan deductible of no more than $500 (USD) Minimum of $50,000 (USD) for medical evacuation Minimum of $25,000 (USD) for repatriation coverage Policy must be active for the entire duration of the academic semester Pregnancy and mental health benefits (must be comparable to the benefits offered in the Student Insurance plan)

I have J1 visa
my wife and daughter have J2

We arrived on Jan/30/2017 and I have the position till Oct/31/2017.

My wife is currently pregnant.

Yes, I will keep my insurance.

We have many plans that meet standard J1/J2 visa requirements. None of the plan will cover maternity for your wife if she is already pregnant. You have to purchase insurance for her from your school.

Our plan meets all the requirement except last one (Pregnancy and mental health benefits (must be comparable to the benefits offered in the Student Insurance plan)
