I will tavel to the US to attend a summer course (as a student) at the Marine Biology Laboratory (MBL; Woods Hole). My trip will be from 2 May 2009 to 14 June 2009 (6 weeks) and I will be J-1 exchange visitor. I will need medical insurance and evacuation/repatriation insurance as follows: Medical benefits of at least $50,000 per accident or illness with the following provisions: o Co-payment not greater than 25 percent o Waiting period for pre-existing conditions that is reasonable by the current industry standards o Deductible not greater than $500 per accident or illness o Coverage for activities inherent to the exchange program • Expenses associated with medical evacuation in amount of $10,000 • Repatriation of remains benefits in the amount of $7,500 • Policies must be underwritten by a company rated no less than A- by Best or ISI, or AA by S&P, or B+ by Weiss, or must be backed by the full faith and credit of the government of the exchange visitor. Could you advise me on this? Thank you very much in advance.
