Green Card Holder - staying abroad more than a year
Hi,
I know that it is not advisable to stay abroad more than a year with a green card. My cousin has a green card but has to live abroad. She has been out and back before 12 months is counted to avoid any risks. But this time, she wants to come back after 18 months stay abroad. She has already used her life line of a 2 year reentry permit. Does she definitely loose her green card if she does so? How much risk is involved in this? And what are the complications ahead? Can any one share their experience - if they have stayed abroad more than a year with out permit?
P.S. She holds an Australian passport
