Schengen Visa through german embassy

Hi,

My friend have applied for the schengen visa from the german embassy at Mumbai India on 7th Sep. Our travel date is 24th September and still he have not received the visa. There is not much information available on the vfs website. Is there a way to request them to look into the visa application? Any contact details where I can reach out?
