Schengan Business Visa - First port country can be different?

I am from India. I have got a German business visa, but i have not traveled on same yet. But now my company want me to travel to Italy for business meeting. Can i directly travel to Italy with same visa? I am raising this because i read somewhere that when you first travel to schengan countries first port of travel should be the country from which i got the visa.

Will it work if i first travel to Munich and same day i take next flight to Italy?
