If you are an Indian citizen with a U.S. green card and you have a layover in London, you may need a transit visa to leave the airport. The UK government requires a Direct Airside Transit Visa (DATV) or a Visitor in Transit visa for certain nationalities, including Indian citizens. However, having a U.S. green card might exempt you from needing a transit visa in some cases. It's best to check the latest requirements on the UK government's official website or consult with your airline. Many travelers have done this before, but visa requirements can change, so verify before your trip.
