Student F-1 Visa Question

Hello,

I'm from Germany and I'll be studying Computer Science in USA this year. I just wanted to know whether I'm allowed to create a new business while I'm there or be a co-founder of a startup. It's not uncommon for programmers and people of similar professions in this field to create start-ups, because that's why we're going in US in the first place, for better opportunities.

I'd really appreciate if you could help me clear this out.

Also: I'll be insuring my stay with http://incominghealthinsurance.com/ it seems to be a good plan. But can anyone more experienced advise me about health insurance?

You are allowed to invest in a business, but you are not allowed for work for that business unless you have separate work authorization (such as OPT).
