    July 2017

I haven't received any interview date. However, I received EAD in October 2017 about a month and a half after biometrics on Aug 15, 2017. On June 18, 2018 I submitted application for an EAD renewal card as a proactive measure. I live in Flamingo, Florida however the closest field office is Kendall, Florida and they seem to be backlogged as most other places. The main irritation apart from the lengthy wait, is that my husband and I are hoping the interview will take place before relocating. Yet we just have to wait and see.

Do not hold your breath. Kendall, FL (I lived there) is REALLY backed up. See for yourself https://www.uscis.gov/tools/reports-...ion-forms-data
      click on Family based.

Kendall has the following petitions pending as of 12/31/17
      Family 2,570
      Employment 3,960
      Humanitarian 10,201

Where are you relocating to? The NBC will not work on your file until it's almost time to schedule you for an interview. They have to prioritize cases. It makes no sense to work on cases that are going to sit there for another year or longer, when they could be working on cases that will have to fall into the interview scheduling queue, because the Field Office has open slots.

It might be worth moving. That un-freezes your case if the new Field Office is faster.

      All the best,

      USCFFS

Thank you for the heads-up USCFFS. Well we have begun to get our evidence organized. The move will not be now, so we will wait. Maybe by that time, we will be married for two years and then qualified for GC 10 yrs. If the times stretches out I will begin my EdD which perhaps will be added evidence with hubz at my side. Thanks again.

Text Notice for Renewal I-765 Received

Well, Well, Well! what do you know? Today on our first anniversary, June 28, at approximately 12:36 a.m., I got a USCIS text and email saying the application was received. I am so happy that hubster took the application over. I thought just filling out a new I765 form with copies of the old EAD were all that I needed to do. So happy he is meticulous, so he went online (USCIS) and found all the instruction requirements which included a copy of the first EAD, I797 for the I130 & I485, passport photos, and other docs. We sent off the mini-package on June 18. It was received and accepted on June 21. The USCIS online update was done on June 26, yet, the text and email updates were on June 28. This new receipt number (given in the text and email) is different from the first receipt number for I765. We will receive the new I765 notice (I797) in the mail soon, I guess. I am bracing myself for a new biometrics (well that is the trend I have seen throughout immihelp when an EAD is renewed). However, we are ecstatic, good news on our first anniversary. We will take the good news as they come.

A point to note: We didn't pay any new fees, we wrote (C9) on the new I765 form to indicate that the application is attached to an existing I485 application.

                Have a beautiful day everyone.

My I485 status changed to "ready to be scheduled for an interview" on 2/14/2020. Does any one know how busy Tampa field office is? How long before my interview will be scheduled?
