  • US Government asking bond while filing i140

My employer is small company with 10 employees.

He has filed i140 and received RFE. Employer says that he has to sing bond in response of RFE. Now employer is asking me to sign bond to stay with him till I-148 stage. If I break the contract than I need to pay $25000. I have two query here:

Can US government ask employer to sign bond?
and due above, can my employer ask me to sign bond?

Is it legal that employer asking to sign bond?

I am in urgent need of response. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Contact an employment attorney in your state to discuss the enforceability of employment contracts

This sounds fishy. Never heard of USCIS asking for a bond.
Just an opinion; Not legal advice.
