  • July 2017 Applicants

Hi everyone. I COMMEND you for your great resilience and patience. You have bolstered my hope for the past months.

    My timeline is as follows:
    July 15: package (G 1145, I130, I130A, G325A, I485, I94, I797-Waiver, DS2019, I864-WW2, I-9 employment, 15 pix, I765) mailed through USPS to Chicago Lockbox

July 18: USCIS received as per USPS tracking

July 26: received text message and email confirmation from USCIS confirming receipt

August 2: received actual receipts (3) from USCIS cases sent to Missouri (NBC/MSC).

August 8: Received actual biometrics notice

August 15: Biometrics done on date for Application Support Center (ASC), Florida.

August 23: I485 online notice ready to be scheduled for an interview

So I called USCIS around Sept 20. I was told it is to early for me to submit a case inquiry. However, she said my case is being processed. I think she just gave a pat on the shoulder, pity response , smile.

OCT 3 will be 75 days since mailed application. If no updates have been received by then I will try online case inquiry.

My distress in waiting is pretty much the same like everyone, needing to work and to renew driver's license?

    Any July filers got EAD?

Our cases are very similar. My accepting date is 7/20. Biometrics done on 8/16. I don't have any changes on my status online. But I am hoping to hear some good news soon.

Also, I can't renew my license until I get the EAD. Oh what fun

It is ritual for me to check for updates multiple times a day. My brain even plays tricks, showing me an optical illusion that the dates of updates and info changed, 🤣🤣. Somehow my husband is more pragmatic, he said he figures we won't hear anything until Oct. I was praying for a miracle👼.

Once I took all USCIS receipts, hubby's USpassport, my birth certificate, expired DL, J1visa, marriage cert, I-94, DS 2019 to the DMV, Key Largo ( I called before). The process was moving smoothly. I did eye test, got the picture taken and held out my debit card. Then they somehow got information on their screen from immigration, these offices are all connected, that on the system I was still under J1 visa (exp. 6/30 in passport). So, I left without the one year D. license. Either ways they wouldn't have placed my married name on it without EAD and an updated SSN. I was disappointed. Now decided I better wait on EAD, update SSN then DL.

I did go there too, but since after the marriage I moved to another state, they did not want to give me the license. At that point all my package was submitted, but the old i-20 was freshly expired. I do believe they would have given me a temporary one if I had stayed in the state my license was issued. I know cases when they give you temporary extension based on the Immi notice receipts. Good luck waiting! Do not forget to submit the inquiry after 75th day!

wow! we are in the same boat. good thing you already have a scheduled interview, until I don't have mine and I was done with the biometrics 2 weeks earlier than you.

            Hi
The update I got was ready to be scheduled for interview not scheduled as yet, I feel the date might be given in 2017, my husband thinks 2018. As I go through the process of waiting I am understanding the connection between field offices and where the case is being filed. To be scheduled for interview the field office in local area will be responsible to coordinate the most feasible date to accommodate me and hubby. Until then we got internet, light and health insurance in our names, also placed hubby as beneficiary on vehicle insurance, took pics, saved amazon receipts and other letters showing shared address. In other words getting docs ready for interview. Alas I am more expectant of the EAD and praying that the wait will not be much longer for me, you and everyoneelse.

              Update

              Hi all,

I did the online inquiry on Oct 3. (DAY 75). PD July 18. An automated message said they will respond by Oct 25. However, today, Oct 6. I called Uscis to ask a question related to why I am still in J1 status and was told that they usually send an update on EAD as it gets closer to 90 days. That is pretty much what I notice in people's timeline here too. She also said if I haven't received an update by day 90 I am to call. So 10 or 12 days to go and the clock goes ding-dong, ding-dong, ding-dong

My wife's dates are almost identical to yours

Everything was received 7/18, biometrics was 8/16

On 9/1 the I-485 changed to say they are ready to schedule the interview but it's been completely silent since then

We are through the Atlanta office

Hey welcome aboard. Well all being well we will reach day 90 on Oct 17th or 18th. I plan to call again but I am hoping that I will get an update before I do. They said they usually update the process by day 90.

I just wanted to add...there was no update on USCIS website. I sat waiting there for one and didn't check mail until midnight last night.
I filed online inquiry on Oct 3. The I797 notice date is Oct 5, 2017.

                      God's blessing everyone.

I did it only for the EAD on day 75. The others have longer waiting periods. Besides I need more time to sort and arrange documents to confirm our bona fide marriage. I am not skimping on that all.
