  • FNU/LNU issue

My passport has Given Name as - Raj , Last Name - blank
All my I-797 documents have First Name - No Given Name, Last Name - Raj

However on my I-140 i received with following name, First name - Raj, Last name - LNU.
My company attorney tried to get it corrected by raising service requests with USCIS but nothing got changed so far and my company attornies have given up and told me this is no problem and not possible to change now.

I want to know will this cause me any problems going forward when i file for I-485/Green Card?

This should not be an issue... Your passport requires a first name but not a last... Most Visa Documents require a last name and not a first... In most documents since Raj is your given name you will see Raj LNU.
Just my opinion... Use at your own risk...

      FNU/LNU in VISA

You need not worry too much about this FNU/LNU problem. I got my SSN, Bank Account, License & State ID in California without having to modify my name although I had FNU as my first name in VISA. You don’t have to have your name split or name changed in your passport and yet get through all Federal and State agencies.
