Why is 1-539 Change of Status so considerably slow in comparison to California Service Center ?

VSC is taking over 7 months to process the request while CSC is taking roughly 3 months.

With the Holiday season upon us will the processing take longer ?

Should I just visit my home country and apply for a COS instead of waiting for VSC ?

I do have the same question. It´s more than 7 months im waiting for cos from f1 to j1
