CIP code changing to STEM while on OPT

I graduated with a non STEM major and I am currently on OPT. After a lot of persistence and follow up my school is going to redesignate my major as STEM. Can I get my school to change the CIP code on my I20. I am aware that some schools have done it. Is anybody aware of the process?
