  • US Citizen living in Canada with Canadian husband - want to move with hubby to US

I am a US citizen by birth and have been living in Canada with my husband since we married in 2005. We have been "snowbirds" since 2011, spending about 5 months a year in the US each year since 2011. We own a home in Canada and I own one in the US. We are thinking about selling our house in Canada and moving to the US. I am 55 and he just turned 62. We are both basically retired. I get a monthly pension from the US. I have SO MANY questions but for now, I'll start with few --
1- Will our ages cause problems for him getting a Green Card?
2- Because we are retired, will we have problems proving we can support ourselves?

If there are any Americans married to Canadians that have brought their spouse to the US, I would LOVE to hear about your experience!!

    1) no
    2) your home equity is likely more than sufficient to evidence ability to support your spouse
