Advance Parole: Any knowledge of staying abroad for 3 months or more successfully

Filed AOS for my parent Aug 2nd 2017. Biometrics completed Sept 1st. Awaiting Advance Parole. Planned travel mid November if AP approved. Parent would like to travel 3-5 months or return if interview gets scheduled in that time. Does anybody know if this length of stay was allowed on reentry?

EAD/AP cards typically granted for 1 yr. So 3-5 months should be ok.
