Hi All,
I just finished my 6 months visitor program under J1 visa in US. Now, I am applying for an Indo-US fellowship which demands me to apply for a J1 visa. I am not sure when I will have a confirmation about this new fellowship, but it says that once I receive the fellowship, I should start my journey within 4 months. As far as I understand, the J1 visa waiver application procedure takes 6-8 months time. Could anyone give suggestions on this? Also, does any of you seek legal help in getting a J1 waiver from India?
Another funny thing is that, my DS2019 says that I am not subject to a Two Year home country rule. However, my visa says otherwise. This is also confusing me.
Any suggestion on this is appreciated. Also, if anyone have gone through the procedure recently, I would also like to get detailed information on that.
Thank you.
Remya
