    Hello Team,


    I am Canadian, perusing medical residency in Michigan and am on J1 visa.

    I do receive W9 form and 1095 - C...I have filled out my taxes using w9 in the past...however do not know how to complete 1095 - C

    Also, Canadian bank has US branch and they sent me forms W8 and W9, I am not sure which one I am supposed to complete...if you could help me pls

    Depending on how long you have been in the United States, you may be treated as a non-resident alien for US income tax purposes. If so, you will assert this using Form 8843, you will file a tax return using Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ, and you will present Form W-8BEN to US banks.

    Form 1095-C is not for you to complete; it is an informational form provided by employers to document an employees health coverage. It is relevant to US tax residents who are subject to the Individual Shared Responsibility provision of the Affordable Care Act
