  • Deed of name change is lost! What now?

    Hey,
My fiance (US) and I (UK) have the I-129F all ready to go, I'm mailing him all the required information, photos, birth certificates etc, but I have one small problem.
The change of name deed I had when my mother changed my name as a child has been lost. I can't find my copy anywhere. I'm no longer in contact with her so am unlikely to be able to get a copy from her, and as it was done so long ago and under the age of 16, there are no legal records in any registry.

My passport and all documentation is in my previous married name (Divorced years ago) but I have since changed my name and have the most recent change of name deed.
Will this count against us, and will the K1 be denied if I can't find a copy of this deed? I'm at a loss for what to do, because I can't reapply and get a replacement retroactively as they can't be backdated.
