implications of layoffs on PERM
I have a very specific question.
I am thinking of joining a company called L as a software engineer.
L is a fast growing company and is also willing to file for my green card.
But L is owned by a much larger company called M. And M has many office buildings around L's Buildings (Same geographic area).
Now lets say L starts the process for PERM And M has layoffs where US citizens with software engineer title are let go.
Since L is a child company of M, will that trigger the 6 months notification rule for my PERM application? Will that cause significant delays in with my green card application?
NOTE: i only have 2 years left on my h1b.
