What time of the day did you guys receive the text and email and what time of the day was the check cashed.
I think what the contents of your packet are can affect your processing time as well as your location. Our case is at the NBC and it took two weeks for them to send us notice.

I could have added a lot more evidence with my application, but didn't realize I needed to.

Based on this advice I will consider starting my job search earlier than I had planned. Any comments about how employers feel about waiting for a new employees EAD before they can start? I would have thought that work permit would come up in an interview or at least before a formal job offer, at which point they would just decide to go with someone else if a potential employee doesn't know when they can start..

Welp, I was one of those people with that misconception. I submitted the main things suggested in I-130 - marriage certificate, proof of 5 years of cohabitation in the form of leases plus letter from landlord, and 3 letters of support, join bank account history (only 1 month old, we got married on April 23, 2018). I also added what I thought at the time as 'extra' evidence - receipt of wedding ring purchases, email conversation with wedding planner, a pdf with about 30-40 photos from our 6 year relationship with his parents and our friends and colleagues, including our 11 person intimate wedding.
My parents haven't met my husband in person yet (we included pictures of us skyping with them during our wedding and explained that that's how they are getting to know each other). So if I had heard this advice before, I would have included his emails to my family.
And I thought I had done my research.. oh well!
It's illegal for an employer to ask anything other than "Will you now or in the future require sponsorship for employment authorization or work visa?" and the answer to that is "Nope". They may only ask you to show evidence of employment authorization once you are hired. This is after drug tests and all - literally on your first day of work. That's when you go to Human Resources and fill out your I-9.

Sorry, I had meant to post the links for June 2018 filers earlier. Most people are either misguided by attorneys who somehow continue to perpetuate that if you file concurrently, the evidence of bona fide marriage is optional at the time of filing OR that you may just bring it all to the interview. Many but not all have a rough ride. It really depends upon who interviews you. On the upside, you didn't just submit civil documents. You will probably be fine. Just make sure that you go through those links and craft a meticulously thorough table of contents.

                      All the best,
