      Me three.
My package consisting of I-130, I-485, I-864, I-765 and I 131 was received on Friday June 15 as well.
I am mostly concerned about getting my EAD by Oct/Nov. Timelines for earlier filers is not very encouraging.
      So good luck to us!

          Hi all,

I am also a June filer. Filed on 6/14 and tracked the package to be delivered on 6/16.

How do you guys know when USCIS picked it up from the lockbox? I saw a lot of people post that information.
Also, how can I know if they actually got it?

            I'm also a June 2018 filer. AOS from F1-OPT via marriage to USC. I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131, +associated forms

06/06 -- Package sent to Chicago lockbox
            06/11 -- Package received
06/18 -- 4 email + 4 SMS notifications, applications routed to National Benefits Center

Looks like quite a wait to be expected for EAD card...

I'm a little nervous about the notifications by mail as we don't receive mail at our street address (rural Alaska), so I provided our PO Box whenever it didn't specify physical/residential address and added an explanatory note. But it seems like there's no sense "changing" the address before I know whether they sorted it out right.

If you send it express, someone has to sign for it. If you send it with tracking, you get a delivery notification from the carrier. I think people refer to either of these.

              June filers,

start looking for a job - ANY JOB. Then you can request for your EAD/AP to be expedited. You may request to expedite for the following reasons:
              1. Financial hardship to a company. (Maybe you are a student on your practical training year, are already working for X company and they would like to keep you. However, your F-1 EAD is about to expire.)
              2. Job offer - self explanatory.
              3. Severe personal financial hardship.

You can combine 2. + 3. Severe financial hardship is often denied. If you think about it, you filed a I-864. However, there are people who have gotten it approved by showing bank statements (you could throw in an affidavit explaining your situation). If USCIS declines your request, then you can run to your Senator and ask them to help you communicate with USCIS.

For those who have not filed yet, please remember that ALL evidence of bona fide marriage is required at the time of filing. There is a widespread misconception about this. Do yourself a favor, follow the I-130 instructions and send all your evidence of bona fide marriage with your application package.

I would suggest going through the links within this link to gather and stage the evidence of bona fide marriage you will submit with your AOS package. https://www.immihelp.com/forum/showt...iew-tips/page4

Thanks for this! I had not considered this strategy. I am on F-1 and need a few months to finish my dissertation. Based on this advice I will consider starting my job search earlier than I had planned. Any comments about how employers feel about waiting for a new employees EAD before they can start? I would have thought that work permit would come up in an interview or at least before a formal job offer, at which point they would just decide to go with someone else if a potential employee doesn't know when they can start..

Welp, I was one of those people with that misconception. I submitted the main things suggested in I-130 - marriage certificate, proof of 5 years of cohabitation in the form of leases plus letter from landlord, and 3 letters of support, join bank account history (only 1 month old, we got married on April 23, 2018). I also added what I thought at the time as 'extra' evidence - receipt of wedding ring purchases, email conversation with wedding planner, a pdf with about 30-40 photos from our 6 year relationship with his parents and our friends and colleagues, including our 11 person intimate wedding.
My parents haven't met my husband in person yet (we included pictures of us skyping with them during our wedding and explained that that's how they are getting to know each other). So if I had heard this advice before, I would have included his emails to my family.
And I thought I had done my research.. oh well!

That's what I thought. I can imagine if you have a prior relationship with your employer they might be willing to wait. But otherwise it is probably hard to get past the initial interviewing stages.

It's ilegal to ask that. All they may ask you is "will you now or in the future require sponsorship for employment authorization or work visa?" and your answer to that is "No". That's it.

No one is supposed to ask you to show proof of employment authorization before hiring you. You show that on your first day of work when you have to fill out the I-9.

I'd probably report them just for the fun of it.
