  • GC for Mom and Police Clearance Cert

    Hi

    i130 & i485 applied for mom in Oct 2017.

Received a notification asking for Police clearance certificate for last 5yrs ( she is above 72yrs) . Her fingerprint was not too good. Guessing thats why she got this.

Question: Trying to get PCC from India. Got a statement from the Police, but the letter states the periods she was out for a visit here. She had visited a couple of times here between 2011 and 2017. Never stayed over 6months.

Checked Online in MA to see if we have to get a PCC from here. It states that we need to get PCC only if stay was > 6months.

is it OK to submit just the PCC from india with the statement saying "except for the period Jun-11-2013 to Nov-10-2013, Jul-20-2017 to Dec-5-2017" .

The letter received from USCIS states that we have to submit PCC and if any issues the application will not be considered.

    Any suggestions please?
    Thanks

Also the letter stated that we have to send USCIS "certified original / certified copies" of the police clearance. Does this mean , the original should also be attested?

      Thanks

You should provide what they ask, if they're asking for a PCC(regardless of if it's more or less than 6 months that she stayed) and certified original and copies of the police clearance, than you sure as heck better send it all over.
This is strictly an opinion and should not be misconstrued as legal advice. The use of this information is strictly at your own risk.

By certified , they mean attestation by notary right?

That would appear to be a correct assumption
