Hello everyone,
I would greatly appreciate if someone can advise me on my current situation.
I completed my Masters degree and hardly used my CPT. I used about 6 months of OPT before transferring to H1B
6 years on H1B and unfortunately had some complications with my Employer in filing for Perm and therefore was was unable to extend my H1B.
I transferred to H4 status on my wife's H1b and pursued some professional certification for about a year.
One of my previous Managers reached out to me for a position he had. Came to know of the CPT option recently and looking to transfer to the F1 status.
Would I be eligible for a CPT from day 1 if the university has such an option(considering I was on F1 before) or do I have to wait about 6 months for the Change of Status to come through?
