I am applying for J1 visa. My program is sponsored by US Department of energy and the program number starts with G-3. I am supposed to get the J1 visa fee waived. When I am applying for the interview, the application procedure is asking for a fee of $160. Does anybody has any experience with such a situation? I was on non-Govt. J1 visa before. Can I also change my visa interview location other than my nearest center to my home state? Thanks!
