Ending the OPT early, and reapply for OPT again

Hi all,

I would like to know if anyone has ever been in this situation before?

I graduated with my master degree 10 years ago and I applied for OPT and got the EAD card. Then 4 months in of my OPT period, I ended my OPT early because I had to go back to my home country, I had reported to my school DSO and Immigration and they had already acknowledged that I was planning to go back.

Now, if I'm doing my second master degree (on the same degree level), can I apply for OPT again using my unused OPT time (I still have 12-4 = 8 months left of unused OPT) ?

Not entirely sure in your case. It's always good to talk with the DSO (or any other DSO).
