Dog to India from USA and back to USA

Yes you can take your pet to India from USA and back to USA after you have all the documentation. We traveled in April of 2015. Fly directly to your destination in India. We flew to Mumbai (Lufthansa) and then had to go to Bangalore. The officer at Mumbai just took 1 minute to complete formalities. But flying from Mumbai to Bangalore was hopeless (Do not fly Air India). We took a taxi from Mumbai to Bangalore coz no airlines (including air india, jet) allowed pets. No trains or buses allow them.If you have all your documentation, you are good to go.
From Bangalore, we had to go to the airport 10 days in advance to get a clearance certificate and we are back in USA.

        Simple Procedure

Pet transport to the United States is relatively simple. There are no regulations regarding neutering your pet, and your dog will be allowed in the United States even if he is not neutered.

It would be great if you have your dog's certificates in order, just be sure that your International Health Certificate is issued within 10 days of your departure. Additionally, because India is listed as a country affected by screwworm, your dog will need to be inspected within 5 days of departure and declared free of screwworm on his health certificate.

The United States (with the exception of Hawaii) does not require a quarantine, so as long as your dog arrives in good health with all the necessary documentation, he will not need to be quarantined.
