Documents needed for Education - Local Resident or not?

Hi. I just immigrated and am settling in to my new life with my wife in Florida.

I need to re-train and so go back to school but frankly the immigration costs, flying back and forth and moving over here pretty much wiped out what savings I had. The problem I have is that I am not considered a resident for a year. The costs of out of state tuition is around 4 times more and having just arrived that's what I have to pay it seems. Does anyone have any advice or experience with this as it feels a bit like adding insult to injury.

You either wait until you are a resident for 1 year or pay 4 times more fee.
