Lost Passport with Indian Visa but have OCI. Is replacement passport ok?

Hi,

I am a US citizen with an OCI. I had the Indian Visa stamp on my passport but am unable to find my passport. I have to fly to India this Sunday and I am trying to apply for a replacement US passport at short notice.

My question is - is it ok to have US Passport + OCI but no Indian Visa stamp for entry into India.

Please advise - as I have to plan quickly.

Also highly appreciate any advice in obtaining a US passport in an expedited way.
