  • Married a US Citizen with pending asylum case

    Hello,

I came to the US illegally as a child (without inspection) and have not gained citizenship yet 20 some years later. Our case is currently in the 9th circuit court of appeals as an asylum case from India. We have been waiting 10 years for a decision and haven't received one yet.

I recently married my husband who is a US Citizen. My lawyer told me to fill out a form I-130 and a G-325a but I feel like these forms are for people trying to bring spouses from India to America and I'm already here. Are there other forms I should be filling out or are these 2 the right ones? So far I have:

    1) The I-130 form filled out by my husband

    2) The G-325a form filled out by my husband

    3) The G-325a form filled out by me

    4) A pair of passport sized photos of my husband

    5) A pair of passport sized photos of me

Is there anything else I need to submit? Also, what are the next steps from here and any idea how long it will take to get a green card? Thank you!
