Hello everybody,
I have been selected for further processing for the DV 2016 program and I got the visa (with expiry date Dec.15.2016) to enter U.S..
Currently, I am enrolled in a Graduate program abroad, and I only have 8 days (Nov.10.2016 to Nov.19.2016) to travel to U.S and get back. I am planning to move permanently to U.S by the end of this academic year (June.2017). Now I have two choices; either to drop this semester and travel to U.S and stay till I receive my green card and social security number, or just to travel and get back within 8 days.
I would like to know, how long am I mandated to stay in the USA once I enter with this visa?. Can I return to my homeland before I receive my green card and my social security number?
